THE CLUB Solent Amateur Astronomers meet on the third Tuesday of each month in The Mountbatten, Lordshill, Southampton UK SO16 8HY. and from January at the Eastpoint Centre. At these meetings we have a guest speaker to give us a talk on their specialist subject. The October meeting is our A.G.M..We run an observatory just outside Southampton at Toothill. Our observatory which is located on a Southern Water reservoir site has a 14 inch Meade. If you run any sort of of group or club, private visits to the observatory can be arranged and tailored to your needs. In the past we have had the whole range of girls clubs from the Rainbows and Brownies to the Guides and the Rangers. Boys groups including the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Plus various W.I.'s and the National Womens Register of Chandlers Ford. If you would like to arrange a visit, email me on the link below and we can take it from there, alternatively, you may wish to call me on 079 8990 4575.
Check out the What's On page for the latest events.
I have been a member of Solent Amateur Astronomers since 1989. Although I like to observe deep sky objects and the planets, (Jupiter has always been my favourite). My other interests are artificial satellites and astrophotography although I'm not now so active in that area as I would like to be. The original site was launched on 21st October 2000 and has undergone a number of changes since then but you can still find a schedule of club events and the skydiary. **********
